Top 10 YouTube videos of 2010
Here, I thought I’d share some of my favourite YouTube vids this year:
1. Tippexperience- A hunter shoots a bear
This is one of the best campaigns I’ve seen all year as it shows what companies can do online to revitalise an otherwise bland product. A brilliant example of a well-timed and well-executed campaign, targeting the back-to-school crowd.
I’m sure countless hours were lost trying different combinations. People generally fell into two categories when it came to filling in the blank. Which one did you fall into?
2.Old Spice responses
If there’s one campaign that got the people talking, it has to be P&G’s Old Spice campaign. A first-class example of how brands can bring a campaign to life using social media to create compelling content and emphasises the importance of connecting with the right influencers and celebrities to seed the creative.
As Dan Greenberg rightly said, “Brands don’t make viral videos, users make videos viral.”
3. Publicis Groupe’s Twitter chatter
One has to wonder who the mastermind is behind these videos?
It’s no wonder why someone hacked into Publicis’ Twitter video. I can’t decide which one is worst.
4. Samsung- Do not trust profile pictures
Ever had one of those moments when you think, “Wow- they do not look like their profile picture!” Now you know why…
5. HP- Just hit print
HP knows printing. How to make the mundane experience of sending a document to print fun.
If you’ve seen Social Media Revolution, then you’ll like this satire. Got to laugh at your job sometimes.
7. Levi’s guy walks across America
14 days of filming and 2,770 individual still frames resulted in this cool stop-motion video of a guy walking across America. Check out the behind the scenes footage.
8. Inception/Up mash up
One of my favourite films of the year merged with Pixar’s UP
9. X Factor Special: Stephen Fry on Wagner
While we’re on the subject of mash ups. Stephen Fry shares his love for unlikely X Factor contestant
10. The Daily Mail song
A musical tribute to Britain’s finest…
PS: If you’re wondering why Ikea’s cat clip isn’t here, it’s because I don’t like cats. There I said it.
