Phubbing: The war against anti-social mobile phone use

Stop phubbing

Source: Stop Phubbing

Are you a phubber? Someone who snubs the person in front of them in favour of a smartphone.

According to research by the Internet Advertising Bureau, more than half would check their smartphones during downtime ‘rather than just sit and think’ and a third would prefer to seek solace checking their phones when there is a lull in conversations with friends than to sit in a moment’s silence.

I, for one, can sometimes be guilty in these things, but are we missing the point of face-to-face and human interactions when we’re busying ourselves swiping the screen on our mobile phone and checking every single alert that comes through?

Put an end to phubbing and enjoy the moment with the people you’re with rather than sharing it with the people who aren’t there.
